In teaching literature, and especially poetry, my fundamental conviction is that the study of literary works is an important activity; that poetry tells us vital things in vital ways; that in the study of the variousness of literature, our understanding of the pleasures and difficulties of life increases. So, I would like students to come, listen and take part, and discover this for themselves.
